February Art Walk @ Lounge Gallery: Brittany Boudreaux

Check out Brittany Boudreaux's debut Solo Show at Lounge Gallery at 402 Buchanan St., Downtown Lafayette on Saturday, Feb. 13th from 6PM to 8PM! The show will remain up through March 5th.

This free family-friendly exhibit has been curated by Micheal Eble and will feaure a photographic series by Boudreaux. We are excited to share these with you all!

Boudreaux is a Louisiana native who spent her youth growing up between Cut Off and Lafayette. She attended The University of Louisiana at Lafayette for Visual Arts with a concentration in graphic design, where she developed a sense of community and discovered her love for conceptual art and art history. Currently, she is a resident of the Studios at Lafayette Wholesale Grocery Artists’ Lofts where she curates and promotes the monthly Art Walk shows at the gallery there, Gallery 333. She is inspired by current events, social justice, and loved ones as well as Pop Art and Surrealism. Boudreaux mainly creates her art using photography & design.

Artist's Statement:
"Each of these photos was taken in the moment. Some of these photographs were created purely for the purpose of experimentation with the medium and formal elements, while others were taken to capture memories. While creating these photos, I tried to capture forms that are the most beautiful or intriguing to me.

With these photos there are very few elements of planning involved, and many chances for suprises due to the rapid and spontaneous nature of their creation. I am most interested in the way that this nearly automatic process creates images that can be viewed as a narrative or commentary by the viewer. This series focuses on my love of chance, color, costume parties, and good company.

Created October 2013 & October 2014."
